Aghios Ermolaos - Lemnos Island
In the sea area north of Lemnos, there are valuable fishing fields that stay unexploited due to the lack of harbor facilities, throughout the northern coastline of the Island between the town Myrina in the west and Plaka village in the east.
As a result and under the emerging need of a fishing harbor in the area, the Region of Northern Aegean Islands conducted a study that led to the choice of the location and to the design of the harbor in Agios Ermolaos of Atsiki.
During the funding process of the construction, the design needed to change, especially regarding the use of accropodes instead of armor stones in the windward mole. In view of the above, the Municipality of Lemnos assigned to the consultant engineer Konstantinos Yamin in 2013, to implement the final design incorporating the above changes. The design was successfully completed the same year in collaboration with CNWAY.
