Coastal Development of former Hellinikon Airport - Attica

The site of the old international airport of Athens is owned by Hellinikon SA and is located in the seafront of Attica, just 8 km from the center of Athens. It covers an area of approximately 6.2 million sq.m., with access to 3.5 km of high aesthetic value and quality waterfront.

The largest urban development in Europe is currently planned in that area with a total budget of around 8 billion euros. The developer is a multinational investor consortium led by LAMDA Development S.A. of Greece who won the international competition held by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) in 2014.

CNWAY participated in the preliminary design of all marine works proposed in the coastal front as subcontractor of the company DENCO S.A. The project included:

• Beach protection works and nourishment
• A small craft marina and marine facilities for the Yacht Clubs of the area
• Estuary Protection works for the Trachonas torrent
