Marmari Marina – Evia Island

The south gate of South Evia Gulf is marked by the two main port facilities of Marmari in Evia Island and of Rafina in Attica that are located opposite to each other. The pleasure boats that choose to cross the South Gulf of Evia heading north, can only be moored safely in Eretria port that is located near Halkida. This directly results in frequent approach of sailing boats and demand for safe berths in Marmari port facilities, as well as their inability to offer elementary services of such type.

The former Harbor Treasury of Marmari Port, contracted in 2002, consultant engineer Albert-Paul Yamin, the design of extension and improvement works of the existing port. The design included a specific zone for a small marina consisting of quay walls and land area so as to upgrade the respective provided services.

Project facts:

• Capacity: 38 touristic boats up to 20m length
• A total length of 168,0m quay walls from which 78.5m are new
• One floating pontoon of 80m length
• Total land area of 9,920m2 that serves a parking space for 70 vehicles, green zones and an administration building
